Burger Boy

Post by CopperCollar »

During the summer months there is a group of CBX owners that meet up most Sundays at the Burger Boy in Sandia Crest. This place is on North Hwy 14 just east of Albuquerque and just south of Santa Fe.

This is Jeff's 82 with a spanky new set of Pipemasters made for the 81/82.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

Very nice, Mike.
A mix of stock and custom, excellent.
I bet it sounds great when the 6 of you leave the lot together.

What color is your '79? Looks a lot like the Mahogany Mica (Mazda 2000 MX-5 Special Edition color) that I painted my '79 about 10 years ago.

What a great situation to have so many cylinders in the neighboring communities! The closest CBX that I know of to me is a good 3 hours away!

We often comment on how could there be this many cbx owners in the SF/ABQ area!

I think Vince had some sound clips but I know when my 79 with RC pipes and Stuart's 79 with the Bassani are accelerating everyone stops what they are doing to listen to that sweet sounding six on the pipe.

My 79 was Tom Whaley's old smoking joe. Room sold the bike to Phil and Phil sold it to me. I scrounged old an tank and body work for it and had a guy in Albuquerque paint it for me.. We went with a black with some red pearl mixed in. Came out better than I anticipated. Looks black in the shop and kinda black cherry in the sun.

Any of you find yourself in ABQ/SF let me know. We can schedule a book up with some of the other riders.
