Stolen 80 CBX - unrestored

Post by NobleHops »

Yar, lightning struck a couple of weeks ago, in the bad way.

My black 6x12 vee nose Wells Cargo box trailer was stolen from in front of my shop, and inside of it were three bikes, an XS650 that I bought from our pal CBXtacy, a CT70, and I bike I bought from a fellow here, this 1980 CBX.

It is as you can see in rough and unrestored condition, without bodywork, exhaust, or carburetors, but it was original, undamaged and unmolested, and is a Japan built bike, same as my black 80. This was going to be a faithful original restoration, so I am as you can imagine, pretty bummed.

Please help me if you can. I am renewing my own "I buy old bikes" post on our local Craigslist sites and my pal Mike is doing the same near El Paso, just to see if it turns up like that. Other pals that got the word on Facebook are keeping their eyes peeled too. Here are the particulars, and a few more photos.

1980 Honda CBX Vin# SC03-2000943

Engine # SC03E-2000992

There *may be* an old license plate on it, South Dakota M 90758

Thanks in advance for keeping gan eye out for me, and feel free to contact me directly if you have any whiff of it.

Hard luck Nils, really sorry to read this. I hope you manage to get the bikes back.

That''s a real bummer Nils, sorry to hear of the theft. Total snot gobbling bottom feeding scum bags.

Rest assured, life will pay these lowlifes back, sooner or later.

6 YEARS LATER....

The wretched bones of my trailer just turned up here in Tucson, renewing my interest in recovering the bike. Please keep your eyes peeled, fellas!

Those CT-70 are worth a good coin these days as well.
A recovery six years later would be extra sweet.

I would definitely like to have it back. Not holding high hopes, though.
