Pipemasters 6-6 - Life is good in the land of Six

Post by surftalks »

Finally got the Pipermasters 6-6 from Australia this week.
Quality and workmanship is excellent. No trouble installing, they fit like a fine glove.

The look is amazing, the sound is unbelievable. "All is now good"

isn't cold enuff in the great white north without a fan?

I love that fan, not only cools the engine, it blows away the fumes too!

Because they are a slip-on there is some leakage of carbon. I found that a single wrap of foil heat tape around each pipe helps reduce the blow-by of soot through that last slip joint. Two wraps of the tape was too tight and makes it difficult to get them on and off easily when required for rear wheel removal. The foil tape is like duct tape and serves the same purpose sealing duct work but it's not affected by heat like duct tape is.

The first set i acquired years ago had the head pipe, muffler and baffle connections all sealed with red rtv gasket sealer.
What a nightmare.

Made my own, hamster cage furnace fan and 1/4 horse motor gotten from a dumpster dive at local HVAC company, then built a plywood box around it. Amazed at how cool the bike stays.
