I was one of those people for a year, but in Toronto. I had an SV650 with hand guards, Widder electric heated vest & gloves, and Maxxis Presa Supermoto tires: medium compound rear and full-soft in the front. That setup worked well on cold pavement and even a little bit of snow, but the carbs were never meant for starting in below-freezing temps. I got stranded once because the choke cable had frozen and I had zero hope of getting that bike started in -5C with no choke.wyly wrote:I see a few bikes every month throughout the winter when the Chinook winds blow, bikes come out even if it's for only a couple days. Then there are the die-hards, if the roads are clear they pull on their heated gear and out they go!
