Yesterday I saw a photo very much like this posted on FB, and by pure luck I happened to have rented a 50mm f/1.2 lens that was perfect for my little rip-off, so I darted out and got this shot:

Image

Shot wide-open at f/1.2 on an overcast day close to noon. Camera is my Rebel T3 with APS-C sensor. I did a little bit of post-processing in Lightroom to add some vignetting and de-saturate a bit to keep the impact with the motor rather than the reflectors or fall leaves.

Mostly original, fresh paint and good reconditioning, sounds so sweet!
Fun to ride gearbox shifts like knife thru butter!
Honda engineering at its finest 38 years and 29000 miles ago.
Artie, great looking bike, I too have the same rear shocks on my 79. have a question on your exhaust. Most of the Kerker exhaust have a bracket that supports the muffler past the step plate mount, I notice yours mounts directly which looks much better. Did you modify your exhaust or is that the way they came. Wondering why most Kerkers I've seen have the extension mount.

JT, those are the mufflers for the Prolink.
Not quite as upswept to fit under the bags.
As you know they sound great.

Steve, Thanks for that info, I was thinking it had to do with a late model as I bought them from a person that had them on his late model. So is it just the muffler that is different or the head pipes or a combination. Just so I know for the future.

That's the way I got them from PO?
I've seen people talk about that bracket but glad mine goes direct
Love the Kerker set up very light weight have Pipemasters as well but even though they look nice are much heavier, makes sense 6 individual pipes weigh more and they sound to me exactly the same as Kerkers
Have had Pipemasters for sale for long while so I might just put them on in the spring and run them for a while
Just had mufflers re chromed on Kerkers just like new I run fair amount of baffle cloth in them little loud on highways

Artie : Thanks for the B&W pic of the CBX assembly line, first time I see it, a definite keeper ! :text-thankyouyellow:
If anybody has other pics like that, I'd love to see them here.

As for the Pipemasters, yeah, may as well use them since nobody jumped on it yet...

Since a kind soul on FB pointed out that the turn signals are a bit crooked that's all I see in this pic, but I still think it's pretty good.

Tell them a wide angle lens will give that impression............. That bike is so 'right" it can be forgiven.
