Morganton NC flooding

Post by Jeff Bennetts »

Our Club had two National ICOA rallies in Morganton NC, the town and its people extended us a welcoming hand and were great hosts to our hooliganism. I’m afraid the town and some of the surrounding areas have been devastated from the flooding, good thoughts going their way!

This is the main st. of Morganton.

I'm thinking the whole Southern Appalachian region that we so much enjoy visiting and riding in has been severely affected.

I just got off the phone with a friend who lives in Maryville, TN, ( just south of Knoxville) not that many miles from the devastation, and things are okay around him.

We had over 5" of rain over 3 days here and the rivers are behaving themselves. Likely because, A) it has been severely dry, and B) the rain fell pretty slowly, so soaked in.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.
