79 Front Fender Droop

Today I finally got the bike out for it's first little run.
I always thought the front of the fender was close to tire, so on my return I checked.
Sure enough it had rubbed, is this common, is there a fix?

Thanks

Welcome to the result of someone using a 110/90 front tire. Might be what's on it right now. At speed, the fender deflects enough to rub a 110/90 front tire. This has been noted many times elsewhere on the forum. Correct tire size is 100/90-19.

Not only that, but at speed the tire "grows" also!

I'll check that, thanks.

Well I checked, it is a 100/90/19, so that would seem to be the right size.
Any other ideas?

Check to see if someone elongated the mounting holes, if not, then the fender has apparently drooped on it's own from being much thinner. Not much of a fix except to find a good used one.

Well I elongated the mounting holes and was able to rotate the fender enough to solve the problem.
Easy fix.
