NOS Front Mudguard Question

Post by jnnngs »

Hi,

I have what looks like a NOS front Mudguard in Candy Glory Red.

Everything looks right about it, but the part number stamped on the underside is 61100-469-0100 (so for the A model), whereas all the parts lists I have access to show the A and Z models as both using the same front mudguards - 61100-422-010xx depending on colour.

Anyone shed any light on this?

Paul.

It's a '79-'80 fender for sure, this one is just molded with the '80 part number. My parts book does not show a 469 separate number, but there must have been some. I'm sure there's no material difference. I do know the headlight buckets for the '80 are indeed 469 part numbers as they are of a slightly more robust construction.

Similar thing is the case for the black sidecovers. Honda never listed a "469" part-number for these, but there are some out there that have the 469 stamped on them.
Now, here is the challenge: Put together a 80 CBX with all the idiosyncrasies and unique numbers and you will have a real collectors' item 8)
