Horn not working properly

Post by zalle »

Hi guys,

I cannot tune the horn in my 1979 Z. It does buzz, but no one hears it... It's been like that for ages. Is there a fix? It looks so good I've thought about installing a pattern one under the tank and leave the original just for looks...

A bit of fine tuning of the screws on the back worked for me.
For a change, no hammers were required!

Be certain ALL the wiring connections are corrosion free. Horns require a relatively fair bit of current to operate. After that, as Steve said. Shouldn't require much 'tweek' of the screw. (Conversely, doesn't take much for someone, in the past, or factory, to have not gotten it right.)

[Well, nuts! No hammer!!! ]
