83 GL1100 Wheels

Post by Samelak »

Does anyone know if the wheels from a GL1100 will swap over onto a 80 CBX? I really like the 10 spoke mag wheels. I want to use all the stock CBX pieces (i.e. brakes, axles, sprocket, speedo drive...).

The GL is a shaft drive. The rear wheel will not swap to a CBX.

:D :D O.K., O.K. guys...it is not impossible to convert a shaft drive wheel to a chain drive. I have seen this done before with a Gold Boomerang Comstar wheel off a CX Turbo. But I have no idea how the hub with the sprocket carrier was made and I don't know if it is possible with a GL rear wheel also.
There is one other thing I would be concerned with: The front GL wheel is a 18" and the rear a 16" size. You are changing the posture of the CBX quite a bit.
