CBX Paint

Post by ahlenius1 »

Hey guys I just got my tank ,front fender ,rear cowl, and side covers back from painting holy cow!! Candy Glory red has never looked so good!! I sent them off to Mark Byrd in West Virginia and he did the work on them and believe me when he got them they weren't pretty! he has done an absolutely fantastic job, I supplied the decals from repro decals (he gets them from the same place) and also i supplied him with two new tank badges the whole thing with shipping was $595.00 compare that to $2900.00 else where. I had to post this because i am so pleased with the work. His e-mail is mark8149@yahoo.com Cant wait to get them on the bike!!!!

I believe Mark did a silver fender and tail for me a couple of years ago. I mainly went to him because it was kind of a rush job. Turn-around time was great and the work was really pretty good, especially for the price. My only issue is that he didn't (and still doesn't, from what I've seen, except your red one looks pretty close)) get the black stripe on the tail wide enough. If you send him early model tails, make sure you note how wide the stock striping so he is aware to do the job that way.

Also, to be fair, the '$2900' candy red paint job referred to in the above post is for the actual bodywork and all. A paint job on your parts is much less. Just wanted to note that and say that vendor's work is near flawless also.
