The metal brackets riveted to the plastic rear fender - what were these finished in - zinc plated I presume.
Mine are looking a bit sad after 40 years of rain and grit exposure so are next on my list of things to do.

They are yellow zinc. It can still be commonly done, in fact, I just had a few rear brake spindles, choke shafts and plates, and some other stuff done in yellow zinc and my guy did a great job.
