rear axle collar dimensions please?

Post by wyly »

I've lost the rear axle collar on the sprocket side on my 79z. It'll take too long to have one shipped to me as I need it asap so I'll go to a local machine shop and have one made.

I know the axle is 20mm so is the inside diameter also 20mm or is it 20.1mm or 20.01mm?
What is the outside diameter?
What is the length?
Is there any particular metal I should be using or not using?

I have 34 mm outside. 23.22 mm long... It is made of steel.. I have no idea the hardness but I do not think it is hard..
I hope this helps..

any idea of the inside diameter? Exactly 20mm or 20.01?

Make it the same as the inside diameter of the bearing and you'll be safe.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

I was getting different readings on that. I would just take the bolt with you and have them make it so it just does go on with a little play.

Success, found something from another bike I have know idea what but it matches the measurements and it fits. I'll track down the real item later and switch it out this winter. Thanks for the assistance.
