I've installed several sets of both first-run and seconds and every second I've seen or heard of was very respectable. Only issue seems to be the alternate right-side hanger is missing from some packages and you seem to need it to even pipes when mounting. Every set I've gotten has had the extra hanger.

I got it last week, exhaust looks brand new on the outside, chrome is near perfect except one tiny pitting on the center pipe , maybe 1/8" diameter, nothing missing, but right side had some loose rust inside, overall good exhaust, I will most likely go with factory second exhaust again next time I restore a cbx

I for one really appreciate you following up on this to give us another data point.

Here are some pics
Just an update on this. I emailed David Silver last week and showed them the pics here of what they originally offered me. I asked if they could provide something a little better this time and they came through with a beautiful set that only has a little bit of chrome scuff on the end of one pipe. After the first day of riding I don't think it will be even noticed. I.m now a happy guy, but as I have yet to install them I am wondering if there is anything special I should do to them prior to putting them on and firing it up. I have new gaskets. Any threads that I could look at?

Lash,
They should be a perfect fit and need nothing to install. They are a double wall head pipe and should not turn color unless your carbs are a mess or you run it with the choke on.
The only thing you will need are the rubber stand stops that go on the left side. They are available from Honda (in blue).
Best,
Phil

Clean all your finger prints, grease or grime off the pipes before you fire the bike up, use a non-ammonia glass cleaner.

Thanks for the info. I will try and find the part numbers for the stand stops and order them. Hope my Kerker brackets for the rear fit these. Will clean them good. One thing that surprised me is how heavy they are.

Your new pipes will not need any Kerker brackets as they come with brackets to bolt to your existing foot peg plates.
You might be able to use the stand stops from the Kerkers if it was a 6x2 system.
Best,
Phil

Jeff, I buy that stuff by the case. Good stuff. I keep a can in every piece of my equipment.

So, not to derail the thread, but what will take melted rubber/plastic off a polished stainless header pipe, without abrading the nice gold color?

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.
