Has any one tried and X-pipe on a CBX?? It wakes up the mid range. I made one for my car . It did make a difference.

By all accounts smoke & mirrors Karl....

Essentially it is a crossover which is a common design tool to improve the mid-range (see certain V-twin motorcycles). All I have heard from CBXers, though, is that the X-pipe for this bike is not so hot.

The stock pipes on the Prolinks came with a crossover . . . . didn't they?

Yes, they did. And the effect is clearly visible when you compare the torque chart with that of a 79 or 80.

I have a set of X-pipes on my 79, haven't had a dyno-run to see what performance increase, if any they provide, but I do know they weigh about 1/2 of what a stock set of pipes weighs and you can lower the engine without having to take the pipes off, just have to loosen the exhaust flange nuts to provide a little give in the pipes and lower away!!

Yes Karl, I do have pics of them, have you been to the other CBX website? CBXWorld.com it is very similiar to this website and has most of the same people plus others that visit this website, I have several pics of my pipes posted under the Photo Gallery/Personal Albums section there. Just look for them titled under my log in name "Cbxter" with X-pipe also in the title of the pic.

I do have one picture of my bike on this website and you can see some of my X-pipe, you need to hit the search button and type in "poll #4" that will bring up a list of topics and mine is about a third of a page down under a Daily discussion topic- Pictures: Light to Moderate modified, Poll#4
My pic of my bike is on page 3 of that topic, it's the purple painted bike. It's also same picture as my avatar picture if you can blow it up to look.
