Thanks Larry,

I am kind of a compulsive cleaner as far as my bikes are concerned. I will usually clean them before AND after...I know... but I 'm like that what can I say.
Also I saw that Tim's CBX sells aluminium deflectors for those pipes. Maybe I will try that too. Just want to try other pipes than the D&G which looks cool but I feel the bike doesn't run as it should.

Oh and on a side note I noticed you live in Brighton. I used to work for GM in the good old days and travel to Detroit a few times a year. I would go up to Milford near the GM testing grounds. Almost move there too at one point. Beautiful area. A lot like Quebec, lots of lakes and fishing and stuff.

Just to clarify a bit, they more upswept slipons were Gen1, fit 79 and 80, then Kerker went to the straighter slipons, Gen2, they will fit 79/80, 81/82, the turndown tips where made available for the late models to keep the bags from turning black!

Good morning, just wanted to post a picture as I got to install the pipes on Saturday. Quick and easy install. Pretty much a perfect fit. I used the old school gaskets, the ones that seem to be Asbestos wrapped with copper wire, those gaskets worked very well.

They sound very good and the bike pulls better in the 4000-5000 RPM range and I think once I go over the carbs it will be even better. Here is a pic with the GS train headlight.

Looks good, Luc.
Nice you got it sorted out with the riding season rapidly closes.
I have used the big GS headlight on a couple bikes as well and think the size suits the bulky CBX.

Yes it does suit the bike much better than the small 6 inch I had before. It will do fine until I repaint the fairing and put it back on.
Also got some CB900F style front turn signals I want to put on but just can't seem to find those stupid brackets.

What P/N are these you are looking for? There are several different ones for the CB900F. Split and not split, front and rear.
I have a set but don't know if these are the ones you want. You can always go to CSMNL
They have them.

CB1100F Part # 33470-438-670 / 33471-MB7-610 / 33472-MB7-610 - Those are the split kind

CB900F part # 33470-438-730 / 33471-438-730 / 33472-438-730 - Those are the stamped (not split)

They should be 39mm

I would prefer the split ones but if you have the other set I will take it.

Unobtainium everywhere. Except for a few sets in Australia and a fancy set but 41mm on Web Bike Japan. Both pricey.

I saw some on CMSNL but they are for the 79-80 CB900F ??? Not sure if they fit, I presume they would be 35mm and not 39mm ???

The CB900F in Europe went through 3 different fork tube sizes. First 35, then 37 and finally 39mm. You need to check the part-number. CB900F had split holders in the front also. Most of them are available at CMSNL for 11 Euro/pc
