Perhaps An Odd Ball Question

Post by nicholr »

I have put a 6 into 1 into a Super Trap onto my 80 and now of course find that my centre stand has nothing stopping it when retracted as there is no pipe on the left side. The stand lifts up and into my chain. Not good. Has anyone come up with a clever bracket or cool limiting solution stopping the stand where it used to and keeping it out of the chain?

Many make a stopper out of appropriate steel strap and bolt to the inside of the left footplate. It's bent at 90 degrees at the bottom and drilled to accept the round rubber from the stock pipe, or something like that. There is also a version that came with Kerker 6-2 exhausts that is a thick steel bracket mounted on the top of the left center stand clamping bolt and points rearward with a slight bend and a rubber stopper on the end. It's split a bit on the bolt end to slide onto the center stand hanger piece. I suppose you'd have to see either to really know what I'm describing.

An "L" bracket with a slot for height adjustability.
