Gauge cluster help

I pulled my gauges last nite originally to install a new trip reset knob but ended up pulling everything apart with the intent on painting up the top and bottom plate, polishing the chrome rings and painting the gauge bezels.

Do the gauge bezels even come off. It would appear that they are crimped around the gauges themselves in a permanent fasion. How can I get these off without damaging them, or is this not possible?
