Will bike start with fairing off?

Post by Dmerc »

Looking at the schematic it looks like there should be no problem, but just thought I'd ask.

It should, D. I always discounnect the wiring harness in the fairing when doing the first start after Winter. (Prevents the headlamp from lighting and draining battery if I have to back-off the starter making several attempts. Don't like to crank too long. The ole X can be a bit slow responding after long lay-up.) Just remember to reconnect. Otherwise, the headlamp and turn signals don't.)

Thanks guys, just what I was hoping. Waiting for an exhaust gasket , then will see if it will run. Did complete carb overhaul and returned air intake system to stock.
