Stator Plug

Post by Hound_Dog »

Gents, can anyone advise where I can buy a new stator plug (the red 6 pin plastic one)? Currently resurrecting an 82 Super Sport and found corroded terminals have cooked the plug. New VRR already ordered. Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Several sources for plugs and terminals. Search the forum for those, but read Mike Nixon's take on them here: www.motorcycleproject.com.

Thanks for the reply Dave. Tried a search but didnt find anything. My other problem is that I am in a reasonably remote part of Asia, far away from any Honda dealer, who, via past experiences, can take 3-6 months to order and supply a part. I does make things slightly more challenging.

Mike lists some aftermarket suppliers at the end of the article. I'd link to some of them but don't know how to on the phone. No access to regular computer just now. Anyway, just Google it and you'll find several sources.

I've used this vendor, pretty much everything you need. Don't think you will be able to find one in Red though, mostly all white connectors now.

Here is another vendor.

You can always try Louis Mintrone at usedcbxparts@hotmail.com. He, likely, has something available. AND, he'll get it to you where ever you are!

And if you're not picky, you can use any 6 pin connector that uses the same male and female pins, used or new, I just repaired my commercial Skag walk behind mower using a set of old connectors from my pile of old Honda wiring harnesses.

Hi there Hound Dog,

I'm in Sydney (Inner West) but it sounds like you may not be.

I am pretty sure I have some new white ones spare (from Cycle Terminal) and you will be welcome to them FOC.

And to change the standard housing colour from white to red (or any colour you want), I just 'colour' them in with a red Sharpie permanent marker. Works a treat.

Here's me doing changing the colour of a two pole one to brown...

Can even help you out with new male or female terminals too.

If you are not in Sydney, no biggie, I can easily put it in the post for you.

Just let me know what type of 6 pole housing you need. Does the connector you need have 0.25" spade male terminals (and that go into a female housing) or a female terminals (that go into a male housing).

PM me and I'll be happy to help you out.

Cheers...Tony
